Who We Are
A team inspired by, and in service to, people.
Meet Annona
Annona was born out of curiosity. Despite having more food delivery apps, recipe sites, and grocery options than ever before, the average Canadian family still wastes over $1,300 of food per year and spends hours every week managing their kitchen. We knew there had to be a better way.
Our name draws inspiration from the ancient Roman Cura Annonae—the "care of Annona"—a system dedicated to ensuring the steady supply and distribution of grain to feed the people of Rome. Named after Annona, the Roman goddess of the grain supply, this vital public service sustained millions of citizens and was considered essential to the stability and prosperity of the empire.
Just as the Cura Annonae managed the complex logistics of feeding an entire city, we're building a modern platform to help you manage your household's food supply with the same care and reliability. Today's food supply chain is vastly more complex — but the core challenge is unchanged: ensuring every household has reliable, affordable, nutritious food without waste.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make household food management effortless, affordable, and waste-free for every Canadian family. We're building the infrastructure that connects meal planning, grocery logistics, pantry management, and community — so that the complexity of feeding your household disappears into the background.
